What to look for when choosing a great wedding venue
For most people the wedding day is going to be the biggest thing to happen in their life. For a few people many thousands will be spent. Some couples will even choose to make travel plans beyond their cities. One of the best places to have a wedding is in San Diego.Let’s look into it a little more a couple of reasons.
When most couples start laying out their wedding plans, the location is one of the important things to consider. For couples that can afford it having the wedding at a different city is a very exciting option.San Diego is one city that always come to mind because of some reasons. Now of course this is going to come from first hand experience working with a lot of couples as a San Diego wedding photographer. So the experience I have gives a big insight.
One of the big reasons is weather.A lot of weddings are performed in the summer. Well most places in the summer are extremely hot. One of the places that you can say is good for that is San Diego. The weather is reasonably mild on the coast. This is another big reason because of the photography. As a San Diego photographer I appreciate good weather. It allows fantastic photos to be taken. It provides a more comfortable shooting arrangement. Where your wedding group won’t be having the heat make them uncomfortable.
Another thing to thing about is San Diego is a great place to have an event. It has a lot of very good hotels that will house your guests. It has a bunch of things to do so if your guests want they can have a mini vacation. Doing San Diego event photography has allowed me to see how this works out beautifully.Don’t forget that weddings are huge events taking placeSo the job that you will do for them is really what you would call event photography. San Diego offers a great location for this.
Hopefully these couple of insights will allow you to make a better decision when choosing your wedding location.

How to acquire beautiful photographs on a wedding day
One of the heaviest task for any wedding is being a photographer. That person is tasked to chronicle the events during that day by taking pictures.Taking pictures of that day is not their only job. They also have the task of making it magical.Or all photographers need to comprehend that at the least. So here are some tips to help you make it magical.
First of all as a San Diego wedding photographer one of the best pieces of advice is to try and have the wedding shots during the best lighting. Now what time do we consider the best for taking wedding photos. That is debatable. But the time that most photographers agree on to take a good shot is early morning. Or if you take shots late afternoon is good as well.By doing so, you will not be having problems with the excessive brightness from the sun when taking shots. This will enable you to capture quality photographs.
Second as a San Diego photographer, I make sure to know the schedule of events. It is very important to take note of the schedule of events. This allows the photographer to get ready to capture those moments. By knowing when things are happening a photographer can anticipate shots. Not just the formal shots but the candid ones as well. A lot of times it is those candid shots that really capture that day.
Finally doing event photography in San Diego you should always be prepared. Backup films should always be in hand. They have to see to it that they are always ready with a backup camera in case the one in use gets broken. Anything that is mechanical should have a backup. What you don’t want happening as a photographer is when an equipment of yours breaks. It would be terrible to miss taking shots when something breaks.Being always ready is the basic rule. If you do that you should have no problems capturing that special day.

Photographer’s value on a very special day
One of the most special events for a person would be his or her wedding day. Usually it is made out to be the bride’s special day.But this day is also important for the groom as well.A lot of reasons can be cited as to why that day is a special one. One overlooked part that can make that day special is the photographer.
Their part in making that day memorable is a huge one. I know for a fact from my first hand experience as a San Diego wedding photographer. Mainly because the photographer’s job is to capture that day. Those moments should be taken and captured in a photograph. The photos are going to be what brings that day back to life. And only a photograph can capture those memorable events.
Are there more things that a photographer can contribute? They have a part in the wedding by making that day like a story. A well thought out photo shoot can make a wedding album come alive.Photos that are perfectly taken at the right place and at the right time would turn a photo album into a story with each page telling a piece of the story of two loving couples.Good shots will be able relive the events to a person who wasn’t at that special day. So with that in mind you need a San Diego photographer who can really accomplish that type of job.But you must also realize that you want it.All of us can just use our cameras then point and click. But you want an artistic photographer that would give you pictures that everyone you would show it with would enjoy it.
A final thing a photographer can do is make it an event. In my photography practice my work is called event photography, because all occassions should be captured as an event, and a good event photography San Diego service should be able to do that. Not just simple shots. But shots that that would seem to be bigger than life.
Now hopefully you can see the importance of a good photographer for that special day.Choose a good photographer who can cover the events very well. Who can make that day larger than life. Because that day should be a very special day when you look back at it.

Tips on how to choose a photographer on your wedding day
The photographer has one of the most important jobs during a wedding day. You are trusting that person to capture that special moment in time.So be sure to choose the right person. But with most young couples the money aspect of it does play a factor.Unless of course if you are rich and have a lot of money to spare then you should contact the best there is. But if you are like most you need to take some things into account.
One of the things I do as a San Diego photographer for all couples is to look at their budget.I do this to help couples decide what packages they can avail from the photographer. Good photographers should have the customers in mind. Especially with wedding photography. Because most young couples will be on a limited budget. So a good photographer must not be trying to get the most out of their clients money.
But there are of course photographers who are very in demand because they are already famous and very talented. Those photographers have the authority to charge higher. But you don’t necessarily need that to find a good photographer. You must remember that all good photographers still need a start for them to be more talented and be famous. A San Diego wedding photographer would be no different. There could be some very talented individuals who are just starting who might not be so expensive.
A great way to sort them out is to look for inexpensive photographers.Look at the ones that you can afford and then you should look at their work. You should be able to spot a talented photographer by looking at their work. Remember they could be very good but just starting out.You may be able to find one that is not so expensive.
Hope these suggestions can help you find an inexpensive but talented photographer. But also don’t forget you don’t have to limit yourself to just wedding photographers. Just like my company does event photography San Diego, doesn’t mean we don’t do weddings. You may be able to find a very talented one that also does wedding photos but is in another field of specialty.

Tips to Taking Candid Shots
Taking photos of people fall in to two categories. They are candid shots or portraits.
Portraits of course are the shots you take when your subject is striking a pose. While candids are when your subjects are going about their business naturally.
I would like to focus on taking candid shots. There is an art to this form of photography and if you follow these few steps, you will be pleased with your work. This is from my experience as a San Diego Photographer.
First off you don’t want to get in the way.Of course most of the candid shots will be people minding their own business, but the secret to taking a great photo is to make sure they don’t know of you taking the shot.
Because often times, when they do notice you, you are going to miss the essence of catching an unguarded shot.So be diligent in making sure they don’t know about the camera.
Another thing to think about is the environment or the setting. When you take candid shots, where you take them plays an important role. You want to capture your subject in their setting as naturally as you can with your candid shot. It’s that setting
whether it is their work, their house, or the street they are walking, helps tell a story of your subject’s life. This is especially important if you are going to be taking shots as a Wedding Photographer San Diego.
A third step you can do is to learn to anticipate behavior. An important part to being able to take candid photos of people who are acting naturally is to know what your subject will do next in a situation.
This will help you if you are trying to catch something in particular because it will allow you to be prepared rather than miss the shot.Knowing their reactions and anticipating it so you can capture it on film is all about anticipation.
Finally, look for those events that cause a person’s expressions to be expressed. Because after all, when taking these types of shots, that is the main thing you want to capture in these candid shots is emotion.
Take a look at what your subject is doing and think about whether or not it’s a moment that will express an emotion.Such as an expression of impatience at a stoplight.Or a joyful emotion displayed at an event. Every moment in time provides an opportunity to capture an emotion.Being alert of those moments will enable you to capture that moment in time that tells a story.
Taking shots that are candid is an art form in and of itself.Especially if your goal is to tell a story with your candid shots. Following these few simple steps will help you be on the road of capturing as many storytelling moments as possible as a photographer.

Wedding Day Photographer Planning
When most couples plan their wedding day they take a lot of things into consideration. They coordinate the date according to vacation times from work. Or they plan the day according to the best time for family to come into town. Or they plan it based upon maybe available venues, like the church or the restaurant.
But one of the biggest things they fail to plan for on the wedding day is the photographer. Don’t think this is something small. And I am not just saying it because I am a wedding photographer.
No planning the wedding day with the wedding photographer in mind could mean all the difference in the world. Especially when you consider the pictures are what is going to be captured for a lifetime.
What are some of the factors when you start planning with the photographer in mind. The date and time.
Let’s start with the time. How many couples would want their photographer rushing through the photo shoot? I am pretty sure most people will not raise their hand to that.
Not even thinking about your photographer, most of the times the bride and groom will do just that. The couple or family basically rush the photographer to try and take all the pictures.
How so you ask? Well a lot of times, the couple will schedule the ceremony for let’s say 1-2 pm. With the reception beginning at 2:30. How many shots do you think the photographer can realistically get in with only half an hour to work with? Not that many.
Worse yet, what if he does get all the shots? Do you think they are going to take good quality shots when they are rushed? Of course not.
So plan the times for the wedding and the reception with enough space in between to take all the photos.
The second factor to consider when planning is to check your photographer’s availability.
Most probably don’t realize this, but most good photographers will be booked months in advance. And if you are dealing with let’s say a large photography company, they may have several photographers.
Well making wedding plans without thinking about the availability of the photographer could be a nightmare. Because if you book that special day and don’t make sure that the actual photographer will be available, when your wedding day comes you might be shocked to find someone totally different.
This happens more than you can imagine when dealing with a big photography company. You may not even realize that they have a staff of photographers and if the photographer you liked is booked, unless you ask, they might not tell you. When your wedding day comes, they might just outsource their work or a second rate photographer might show up.
Be prepared that you don’t let something like this happen. Planning your wedding day is wonderful. Be sure that you also plan it thinking about your wedding photographer.

The Right Steps in finding a good Wedding Photographer
The wedding day will probably be one of the most important times that occur for a person’s life. Hours and hours go into all of the planning for the wedding. All of the tasks that go into wedding planning can be time consuming, stressful and very frustrating at times. That is why it is so important to do some homework and find the right people for all of the jobs. One of the critically important jobs will be for the photographer. From my experience as a San Diego wedding photographer I’ll show you it can be a few simple steps away.
Trying to find a wedding photographer is huge responsibility and job. There are several things to take into account when trying to make this important decision. The photos that you take away from your wedding are going to be the most memorable keepsakes that you have. The photos will be all over your walls for the rest of yourlife. One of the most obvious factors when choosing any photographer is price. Many photographers will charge a price for a certain length of time at the wedding. It is important to know what will be included with that price up front
price. When it comes to finding a wedding photographer, the biggest upside to pricing is there is a lot of competition. Keep in mind that many photographers are willing to negotiate their price a little to fit what you need.
Another factor to consider when choosing is how much experience a person has. Is this their first wedding job, or have they done a few? Their price may reflect how long they have been in business as well. Now just because someone may have a lot of experience doesn’t guarantee they will be better. Sometimes those people that are just starting out and trying to build a name for themselves will turn out to be excellent. The advantage of going with someone like that is you know you are going to get their best effort. In your search for a wedding photographer, you are going to find different levels of experience between them. When you do an interview of prospective photographers, it will give you a sense of what it will be like when you work with them.
A final thing to think about when you prepare to make that decision is what kind of personality does the photographer have. Are they going to call all the shots and make all of the poses? Or are they going to let the bride and groom make some decisions? Another thing to think about is whether or not you want to be the one to make the important decisions on the photos. The bride and groom will have enough to think about the day of the wedding as it is. Take all of these things into account when considering which photographer to choose. If you do, you are going to have a lot of wonderful pictures to cherish for the rest of your lives. Take it from me, your experienced San Diego photographer.

Tips from a San Diego Wedding Photographer
Being asked to be the photographer for a wedding is a big responsibility. If you’ve been approached to do it as a friend, or maybe asked to do it as a professional, here are 5 great tips to do the job right.
This tips are coming from first hand experience as a San Diego wedding photographer. So whether you are seasoned pro, or a rank amateur, if you follow these tips, you will feel comfortable and not have to second guess yourself.Doing this you will be fully prepared come what may.
Our first tip is a simple thing you can do and that is to have the couple and the families go and make a shot list. With a day that can be as hectic and chaotic as a wedding day, doing this will help when you are trying to organize all the group and family shots later on in the day.Imagine how wonderful it will be to just go down your list and know that you aren’t leaving anything out.
The second tip on our list is to not delete any shots. In this day and age of digital cameras, most photographers use them. Great as they are, they also are tempting to delete a shot since it is so easy to do. Don’t even look at the previews. What you think may be a great photo, can differ widely in what the couple considers a great photo. You know what, they might like all those un “professional” shots you take.
The third tip to make sure you do is taking candid shots.A good photographer isn’t one who just takes the standard basic shots, like family shots, typical wedding shots, or whatever is the usual. But they will also try and capture the emotions of the day through the shots of all the people that were there. And that includes some of the things that could go wrong, like a flower girl not making it all the way to the front, or the ring bearer dropping the rings. Every shot counts.
The fourth tip is which is often overlooked is to make sure you have several cameras and other equipment as backup.Do you even want to think of a moment like that of not having a working camera halfway through the wedding. Plan for anything that could go wrong.By being ready with extra equipment, you will avoid the uncomfortable time of not being able to take any more pictures of the wedding day with a broken camera.
Last piece of advice, make sure you know the lighting of the wedding. There can be a huge difference between the lighting inside the wedding and outside, so make sure to practice for all the different possible conditions. Think about seeing if you can go to the locations of the big day and look for the best spots to take pictures as well as study the lighting needs.
Following these 5 great tips will help you greatly on that special day. It will prepare you for whatever might go wrong, it will prepare you for capturing what goes right, and it will prepare you to help contribute to this wonderful day by being the best photographer you can be. Take it from my years of experience as a San Diego photographer.

How to Choose The Best Photographer
Have a special day coming up that you need to find a photographer for? Well you’re in luck. The experience I have gained as a San Diego Photographer will be to your benefit as I share some insights on what you need to do to find the right person for the job. So before you roll the dice with any old photographer in the yellow pages, heed my quick tips and you will be very pleased in what photographer you find for the job.
For special days, most people want to capture those special memories with pictures, especially if it is a wedding, I know from first hand experience as a San Diego Wedding Photographer; so it is very important that you research the photographer you are going to trust for the job. So why not ask friends and family for some recommendations. Their recommendations will help you formulate a list of candidates for the job.
After you have gathered that list from friends and family, you should see if they have a website and take a look at it. Look at some of the work that they have done in the past. Look to see if it is the type of shots and the style you want your pictures to be like. If the photographers you have listed have their portfolios online, it will save you a lot of time because then you can narrow your list down even more by what you see.
Now you are ready to conduct some interviews. This doesn’t have to be in person. You can do it over the phone. The goal of these phone interviews is to ask questions. Questions that will help you determine if this is the right person for the job. The more specific you are in asking your questions, the more specific your prospective photographer can be helping you better understand if this is the right person for the job. By doing this you will narrow the field even more, and from that you can finally schedule to meet those in person who you like so far.
Now, after meeting with the final photographers on the list, it is time to decide who will be the right person for the job. Some of the factors you want to base your decision upon is, does this person understand what you want for this photo shoot, and how to capture the special moments. Also is this a person whom you like. Believe it or not, for something as intimate as photographing a special day, you want to make sure it is somebody you get along with. After you believe you have found the perfect photographer, then go ahead and make the decision and let the person know you have chosen them.
Doing these few but profound steps will help you in many ways. The process will give you the opportunity to know your photographer more intimately then any other process. Having this knowledge of him or her will allow you to connect with them, which is very important. It will also let you see what their style and vision will be for the photo shoot. And probably the most important part is the fact you will be at ease in your mind, because you have taken great care to find the right photographer.
